Next Time I'll Take the Physical Challenge
Recently I was invited, I actually begged, to be part of the Chades Challenge. Once every two weeks, a couple of artists choose one word each (one a noun, the other an adjective). The combined words form the subject of the following weeks' Chades (CHAracter DESign) Challenge.
This week was Elderly Mermaid. Though my execution was flawed I think the concepts were good. The Mermaid Head represents an elderly mermaid obsessed with appearance: A sea anemone wig, Hermit crab shell hearing aids, sea urchin eye lashes, barnacle beauty mark, and blowfish lips. I also could not resist the "Nemo" reference.
I like the 1st challenge idea so much I also included a deformed sorcerer. I hope you all enjoy these, as I will enjoy all the other entries. When I figure out how, I will include links to the other entries blogs.

Next time I'll save them smaller so they view better at full size.
Awesome, man, welcome to the challenge! Great use of props and um...alternative hairstyles. To create a link within your comment, you highlight the word in question while you're editing the post. There should be a paperclipish icon atop the text box. Click on that sucker, copy and paste the URL, and viola!
Also, I considered some sort of walker gag, but couldn't figure out how to make it work, so kudos for the fantastic gag (and the excellent starfish nipple broaches).
Nice mermaids Josh! I also played with the walker idea to no avail, the fish instead of tennis balls really sells it. And how can you go wrong with starfish nipple covers? Those poor guys are hangin on for dear life! Cool stuff, and welcome to the challange!
