IF Poise: T-shirt Submissions

In these recently created designs, and the designs from the previous two post, I have been trying to create compositions with a great degree of poise.

Poise from Webster's- 1: a stably balanced state : equilibrium poise between widely divergent impulses — F. R. Leavis>2 a: easy self-possessed assurance of manner : gracious tact in coping or handling.

"Odd Bird"

"Type-Writer"

"Super 80's"

"Tape Vomit"

"The End" based on the real ending of The Watchmen.

I have not been posting lately because I have been fervently working on some t-shirt designs. These, along with the previous two posts, are some of the submissions I have made to a start-up company called "Transmission." I am very excited about the prospects of this company.

Please let me know what you think about the designs: Would you were them? Which is your favorite? Do any of them rub you the wrong way? Do they have poise?

I have to admit that I dug on the squid, due to Chthulhu considerations. But I'd say the swarm of letters coming out of the typewriter is my favorite for a shirt design. Definitely market those to journalists and local writers' unions.

Speaking of which: You should have a silkscreen of Hemingway's head spiting out bulls and shotguns. And some of his more notable quotes.

Or give him a chef's hat with several red bean rolls coming out of an oven: "The Bun Also Rises".

Fantastic work, Josh.

I'd definitely wear the "Odd Bird" one. Even better if it were a poster. I'd definitely hang that up.

Love the one with the typewriter.

Odd bird and Typewriter! That's from the grey-power market. And these two definitely have poise. I am 'freaked' by the firearms one, but that's an age thing. I think you've got the whole family covered here! Good luck.

Connie, I think you are talking about the Super 8 design. If you are, those are video cameras not guns. I don't think they are freaky.

those are great!

I really like the typewriter one for a tshirt. and though i love the squid as art, not so much as a tshirt design.

All are beautiful!
My favourite is "Tape Vomit", the randomness of the falling tape made it so chaotic yet so interesting.
Well done and keep up your goodwork Josh:)

My friend recruited me to make a flier for a SXSW mixer, and your squid seemed appropriate. Would it be okay if I used it? No money is being made, just good times to be had.
