IF: Superstition

My entry for "Superstition" is of the Chupacabra. In the Latin American world the Chupacabra is as infamous as Bigfoot/Yeti, UFOs, and Nessy. The name Chupacabra means "Goat Sucker" and sightings describe the beast as having a ridge of spikes going down it's back, standing like a kangaroo, having the head of a panther or dog, and having scaled or leathery skin.
I wish I had the time to color it in. My next few entries may have to be quick, like this one, and have no color.

Good linework. Indeed, no colour needed.

yeah, I'd love to see it colored. I like the contained circular shape you've got going with the monster. I noticed below you posted a few artist of inspiration. If you like James Jean you might like Tomer Hanuka, (note, some of his stuff has nudity)

Interesting superstition, and I'd really like to see this coloured. Love the camel on a rocket, too!

Very nice version! Next you should try with the bigfoot, :P

Thanks Mathias. I checked out Hanuka and his stuff reminds me of James Jean with a more graphic, less painterly, style. If you can past the gore he is really quit good.

Hah! That's pretty awesome...I did a couple of chuppy pics (http://barratuna.blogspot.com has the head pic towards the bottom) after reading some stuff on cryptomundo.com because I wasn't happy with the traditional 'alien' look that was rendered throughout their site...looks like we have similar thoughts!

Thank you everyone for visiting and commenting. Janice, it is all freehand; if I did it on the computer I would have fixed a few things or added color.

That is one beautifully drawn pen and ink piece. You handled the goat and the way it's laying perfectly. Very nice draftsmanship. I enjoyed reading about the creature too!

Great Chupacabra! This is one of the best versions I've seen. Reminds me a bit of Teryl Whitlatch. Have you seen her work?

Sorry, it's Terryl with two "t"s
